Who doesn’t know the Sultan of bollywood? Yes, the very famous bollywood personality Salman Khan. He has finally been acquitted by the Rajasthan High Court in two 1998 chinkara poaching cases. This battle spanned for a total of 18 years.
On October 1st, 1998 the actor was accused of hunting and killing two Chinkara deer and a black buck while shooting for his famous movie ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ in Rajasthan. A non-bailable warrant was issued against him on 12th december 2005 for not appearing in the court. Salman Khan then appealed before the High Court challenging the lower court’s verdict which had handed him five year’s imprisonment in the year 2007.
Salman Khan’s lawyer Hastimal Saraswat said that the bullets recovered were not fired from Khan’s licensed gun and was proved in the court.
Rajasthan HC after 18 years finally completes hearing the appeal and acquits Salman Khan in the Jodhpur blackbuck and chinkara poaching cases on 25th July 2016.
