Prakash Raj Reacts After Name Removed From Bengaluru Voter List, Says 'What a Joke?'

Actor and social-political activist Prakash Raj has strongly reacted after finding out that his name was missing from the Bengaluru voter list following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. The actor questioned the removal and said it was surprising that his name was deleted despite his long association with the constituency.

Prakash Raj shared a video on X and took a sarcastic dig at the situation. He pointed out that he was born in the constituency, studied there and spent his early years working in theatre in the same area. He also reminded people that he had contested the Lok Sabha election from Bengaluru Central as an independent candidate.

‘What a Joke?’ Prakash Raj Questions Voter List Removal

In his video message, Prakash Raj said that he was among the voters whose names had been removed from the electoral roll following the SIR exercise in Bengaluru.

Taking a sarcastic tone, he questioned the process and said, “Nice joke, no?” He explained that Bengaluru has been closely connected with his life, as he was born there and completed his schooling and college education in the city.

The actor also highlighted his association with theatre in Bengaluru and pointed out that he had contested the Lok Sabha election from the Bengaluru Central constituency.

Prakash Raj questioned how his name could be removed from the voter list despite having such a long-standing connection with the constituency. His remarks have once again raised questions over the process of revision of electoral rolls and the removal of voters' names.

Prakash Raj Condemns Police Action Against Students in Ranchi

Meanwhile, Prakash Raj also criticised the police action against JPSC and JSSC aspirants who were protesting in Ranchi, Jharkhand.

A large number of competitive exam aspirants gathered near the Jharkhand Assembly under the banner of the JPSC-JSSC Reform Forum. The protesters formed a human chain and attempted to move towards the Assembly as part of their demonstration.

The situation reportedly turned tense when the police tried to stop the protesters. Water cannons and lathi-charge were used to disperse the demonstrators. Videos shared on social media also showed police using tear gas against the protesting students.

Prakash Raj shared one such video on social media and strongly condemned the police action. Using the hashtag #justasking, he questioned the use of force against the students and wrote, “Why... why... why? This brutality will not work anymore. It will only bring down an arrogant power.”

Students Demand CBI Probe Into JSSC-CGL Exam

The protesting candidates are demanding the cancellation of the JSSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination and a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in the recruitment process.

The aspirants have alleged irregularities in the examination and recruitment process and are demanding transparency from the state government. They have also accused the government of ignoring their concerns related to competitive examinations.

The protest was organised to press for action on these demands, with the candidates seeking a fair and transparent recruitment process.
