Punjab ANTF's Big Action Before August 15, Over 30 Kg Heroin Seized in Ferozepur

Ahead of Independence Day, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has carried out a major operation against a suspected drug trafficking network in Punjab's Ferozepur district. The agency seized 30 kg 672 grams of heroin and arrested three people during the operation.

A Hyundai Verna car, allegedly being used to transport the drug consignment, was also seized by the investigating team.

Drug Consignment Traced to Pakistan-Based Trafficker

According to the preliminary investigation, the seized heroin was allegedly sent from Pakistan by a drug trafficker identified as Shah Pathan.

Police said the consignment was received by a local person involved in drug trafficking in the Alike village area under Sadar Ferozepur police station.

Investigators are now trying to establish the complete chain through which the consignment was transported and distributed.

ANTF Gets Intelligence, Sets Up Checkpoint

The action followed specific intelligence received by the ANTF regarding the movement of a suspected drug consignment.

Acting on the information, ANTF teams put up a checkpoint on the Ferozepur-Fazilka Road. A Hyundai Verna suspected to be involved in the operation was stopped and searched.

During the search, officials recovered the heroin and arrested the three people associated with the vehicle.

Who Are the Three Arrested?

The arrested suspects have been identified as Anmolpreet Singh alias Anmol, Akash Singh alias Akash and Anshpreet Singh alias Ansh.

Anmolpreet Singh, 24, is a resident of Kasuri Gate in Ferozepur. Akash Singh, 22, belongs to Ghulam Patra and was living in Sant Kabir Nagar, Ferozepur.

Anshpreet Singh, 25, is a resident of Machhli Mandi, Rajghat, Ferozepur. Police said Anmolpreet and Akash are studying at an ITI college, while Anshpreet works as an assistant with a private architect.

The seized Hyundai Verna is registered in Anshpreet's name.

Probe Focuses on Wider Drug Network

The ANTF is now investigating the suspected network behind the heroin consignment.

Officials are attempting to identify the person who allegedly received the consignment in Alike village. Investigators are also looking into the possible links of the arrested suspects with other members of the network.

The investigation is aimed at tracing both the source and intended recipients of the drug consignment.

Case Registered Under NDPS Act

A case has been registered at the ANTF Police Station in SAS Nagar under Sections 21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

The FIR was registered on August 10, 2026.

The ANTF is continuing its investigation to identify other people allegedly connected with the cross-border drug trafficking network and determine the full extent of the operation.
